The Disability Health Coalition is a coalition of organizations with the common goal of increasing access to health care for people with disabilities.

We are pleased to announce that the Right To Know Website is now available. Please visit this site at www.cdc.gov/RightToKnow to learn more about this health promotion program designed to increase breast cancer screening among women aged 40 years and older living with physical disabilities.

 

Racial and Ethnic Differences in Self-Related Health Status Among Adults With and Without Disabilities  a Center for Disease Control report on Disability trends in the American population

Disability among US Adults 18 years of age or older by Race or Ethnicity, Non-Hispanic white Disability 20.3%, Non-Hispanic Black Disabillity 21.2%, Hispanic Disability 16.9%, Asian Disability 11.6%, Hawaiiian/Paciific Islander Disability 16.6%, Native American, American Indiiancs and Alaska Natives Disability 29.9%

 

Disability and General Health Status amoung US Adults 18 years of age and older, Health Status: Excellent/Very Good: Disability 27.2%-No Disability 60.2%, Good Health Status: Disability 32.5%-No Disability 29.9%, Fair/Poor Health Status: Disability 40.3%-No disability 9.9%
